Shaanxi: Xi’an launched measures to regulate online shopping

Recently, administrations for intellectual property, commerce, industry and information technology, industry and commerce, quality supervision, culture and press publication as well as public security organs targeted at online shopping areas and jointly launched a special crackdown on combating intellectual property infringement and manufacture and sales of counterfeit and shoddy commodities.
Measures taken in the special crackdown aimed to regulate online shopping by uncovering a number of cases on IP violations, exposing a batch of illegal enterprises to the public, enhancing consciousness of online business operators on lawful operation and creating a favorable environment where intellectual property rights can be well protected.
Relevant departments are required to attach great importance to IPR strategies dissemination, interdepartmental cooperation and the combat against IP violations; furthermore, they are urged to step up the supervision on online shopping platforms and online business operators to fight against IPR infringements and the trafficking of fake products.
