Hebei: Patent applications in Langfang exceeded one thousand in two successive years

Patent applications in Langfang exceeded one thousand in two successive years, which indicated that the independent innovation capability of the city has been increased, according to information released by Langfang Municipal Science and Technology Bureau.

In 2009, patent applications in the city exceeded one thousand for the first time. In 2010, patent applications reached 1,248, up from 1,053 in 2009, increasing by 18.34%; while patent grants were 982, up from 358 in 2009, increasing by 57.37%. Both patent applications and grants in the city hit record highs in 2010.

In recent years, Langfang has launched a series of measures to protect intellectual property rights. The municipal science and technology bureau has cultivated a batch of IP demonstration enterprises and subsidized over 30 enterprises in more than 70 patent applications. It has also periodically given trainings on IPR strategies to technicians in enterprises to raise their consciousness on IPR protection. Since ENN and Wootion were incorporated into the provincial IPR demonstration enterprise program, patent applications in the two companies have increased by 20%, in which, there were about 100 patent applications for inventions.
