2011/03/31

A news release conference was held in Jinan, capital of Shandong Province, to announce to the public on the progress of the half-year special crackdown on intellectual property (IP) infringements. Li Aimin, Director of Shandong Intellectual Property Office, addressed the conference, which was jointly held by the provincial publicity department and the leading group of the special campaign.

Li pointed out that since the special crackdown was launched, IP offices across Shandong have taken a series of effective actions: setting up the provincial leading group, formulating the Plans of Shandong Intellectual Property Office on the Implementation of the Special Enforcement, combating serious violations to IP rights and dedicating to create a healthy environment where IP infringements can be consciously boycotted. They have not only built a network in the Shandong Peninsular for relevant authorities to coordinate with each other in the enforcement, but also have established an inspection team and have paid visits to many cities, including Zibo, Liaocheng, Heze and Linyi. Li emphasized that the IP authorities shall further promote the special campaign in the future.

According to statistics, since the special campaign was launched, 242 cases involving 26.57 million yuan have been filed, 183 of which, valuing at 21.95 milion yuan, have been closed; more than 1,000 reports have been released and published on various newspapers and media.
