Anhui takes measures to monitor the quality of agricultural materials

At present, Anhui has been conducting a special campaign on cracking down upon intellectual property infringement and manufacture and sales of counterfeit and shoddy commodities in agricultural material markets. Agricultural departments have been strengthening the investigation to ensure the quality of agricultural materials.
In order to regulate local agricultural material markets and enhance the supervision on the quality of agricultural materials, agricultural departments in Huainan have awarded the honor of agricultural material demonstration store to qualified store owners.
Recently, Anhui agricultural administrations have made plans for the next phase of work in compliance with measures of the special campaign and promoted law enforcement activities in markets of seeds, pesticides and fertilizers to guarantee the quality of these materials.
So far, agricultural departments in the province have investigated 140 pesticide markets, dealt with 542 kilograms of substandard pesticides and 326 kilograms of animal-use medicines (fishery drugs). Wang Feng, deputy stationmaster of the plant protection station in Anhui, said, "95% of pesticides for wheat meet the criterion. In 2011, 500 teams will be dispatched to do random investigations across the province. Pesticides with labels that are not in compliance with the regulations on pesticide labels and instructions will be banned from market."
