Zhang Yefang, a senior at Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University, patented 150 inventions during his four years of college, some of them already commercialized.
His inventions include automated ceiling fans, rust-free railings and knockdown badminton rackets.
The university even set up a fund recently to support his research.
Zhang said he has been interested in creating inventions since childhood. He invented a mousetrap with an alarm while in the third grade, which even then won a top prize in an invention competition.
