Yunnan to further promote the special campaign on cracking down upon intellectual property infringement and counterfeit commo

According to information from the law enforcement training workshop on cracking down upon intellectual property infringement and manufacture and sales of counterfeit and shoddy commodities in Kunming, Yunnan Province will enhance the rectification in key areas, markets and products, especially for food, drugs and seeds which are closely related to public health.
Since the launch of the special campaign at the end of last year, administrations for industry and commerce have investigated 900 cases on manufacture and sales of counterfeit and shoddy commodities, with 5.55 million yuan involved, confiscated and fined close to 3 million yuan and destroyed 41 sites; public security organs have resolved 99 cases, destroyed more than 30 sites and seized 108 suspects; bureaus for press and publication have confiscated over 8700 illegal publications; agricultural departments have confiscated 3.6 million kilograms of fake seeds, destroyed 8 sites and avoided 1348 million yuan of economic losses; Kunming Customs have inspected 50 cases of IP infringement, with more than 80 thousand yuan and 7930 articles involved, such as shoes, socks, buttons and golf clubs.
In the following 3 months, Yuannan will enhance the law enforcement coordination and effects, promote the administrative and judicial protection on IPR and improve the market management. Meanwhile, further efforts are needed to instruct enterprises and individuals on legal business, strengthen the abilities to distinguish fake products and create a better environment on intellectual property protection.
