Guangdong: Zhanjiang achieved satisfying results from the special campaign

On the afternoon of March 3, Zhanjiang municipal government of Guangdong Province convened a mid-term conference on the special campaign on cracking down upon intellectual property infringement and manufacture and sales of counterfeit and shoddy commodities. Deputy secretary general of Zhanjiang municipal government Li Wei attended the meeting.

Li stressed at the meeting that member units of the leading groups should attach great importance to the special campaign, carry out relevant national, provincial and municipal policies and strategies, enhance information transfer capability and cooperate with each other closely to promote the campaigns. Chen Yi, deputy chief of the leading groups of the special campaign, director of the Leading Group Office and  the municipal science and technology bureau, summarized the results achieved and planned for the next phase of work.

Since November 2010, according to the policies and strategies of the State Council and Guangdong Province, Zhanjiang has launched a special campaign on cracking down upon intellectual property infringement and manufacture and sales of counterfeit and shoddy commodities. More than 15,000 law enforcement officials from municipal administrations for intellectual property, public security, industry and commerce, copyright, quality supervision, food & drug and agricultural affairs as well as those from Zhanjiang Customs, have investigated 25,839 business entities, resolved 284 cases with 8.7 million yuan involved, imposed a fine and a confiscation of 193,100 yuan and seized 11 suspects.
