On March 1, Qingdao municipal intellectual property service center held the year’s first training courses on patent exploitation. Experts from the literature department of the State Intellectual Property Office gave lectures. The Science and Technology Bureau of Chengyang District organized R & D personnel and patent management officials from more than 30 enterprises and institutions to attend the courses.

The courses mainly focused on characteristics, exploitation and retrieval of patent documents, which had been explained to trainees through numerous case studies. This training would help the audience further comprehend the importance of patent documents in research and development in the enterprises.

Qingdao municipal intellectual property service center shoulders the responsibility to train local enterprises on the exploitation of patent information. The center has already constituted a training plan for 2011 and will make full use of patent information service platforms and online training programs to organize courses regularly and to provide a better learning and practicing environment to trainees.
