Beijing exported 2,153 pieces of copyright last year

According to information released by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Copyright, last year, the city’s strategy on copyright exports has yielded satisfying results: 2,153 pieces were exported on an accumulative basis, increasing by 45% compared with the same period last year, and the foreign revenue generated by the copyright export was up to 188 million US dollars. Meanwhile, the output structure was greatly improved and copyright products were mainly technological and educational materials. The top five copyright import countries and regions were Taiwan, Japan, United Kingdom, South Korea and the U.S.A.

Beijing municipal government has made every effort to ensure the fast growth of copyright export. Since the launch of the strategy on copyright export, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Copyright has enhanced public service, established a copyright information center, built three national copyright trade bases and hosted three international copyright expositions. Meanwhile, it has helped to develop social intermediate agencies of copyright and awarded winners of “best copyright agencies” in Beijing’s publishing fields. Furthermore, market awareness and international competitiveness of publishing units in Beijing were significantly improved and the creation of a large number of fine works in various fields and with different contents also stimulated in copyright export. In addition, with the growth of China’s comprehensive competitiveness, the world have been more and more interested in China and eager to learn more about the conditions of present-day China, to understand Chinese culture and to involve in China’s economic development, which can be reflected by the increasing numbers of people learning Chinese language.
