Investigation on Intangible cultural heritage by foreign organizations should be approved.

The draft law on intangible cultural heritage considered during the Eighteenth Meeting of the Eleventh National People's Congress on December 21st clearly defined that the investigation on intangible cultural heritage by foreign organizations and individuals in the territory of China should be approved.
The NPC Law Committee discussed with the Education Science Culture and Health Committee, the State Council Legislative Affairs Office and the Ministry of Culture and proposed to revise the original provisions of Article XIII to: foreign organizations that conduct investigation on intangible cultural heritage within the Chinese territory should cooperate with the domestic academic research institutes on the base of approval from provincial culture departments whereas investigations by foreign Individuals should be approved by culture department above county level.
