On the briefing meeting held by the Ministry of Public Security on 16th December in Beijing, it is learned that from November this year, the national public security organs carried out "Sword" action to crack infringement of intellectual property rights and manufacturing & selling of shoddy goods. Until 30th November, 676 cases have been detected with total value of 835 million Yuan, arrested 1586 suspects, destroyed 342 dens of counterfeiting & infringement and 166 wholesale sales groups.

　　These cases involved food , drugs, clothing apparel, auto parts, electronic products, pirated CDs, agricultural and other fields, violated the rights of companies and brands including "Tong Ren Tang" "Maotai ", "Microsoft ", "Nike" , "Louis Vuitton", "Adidas" and so on.

　　Meng Qingfeng, chief of Economic Crime Investigation division of the Ministry of Public Security revealed that in the next stage, the public security organs will further strengthen efforts in arresting fugitives, especially during such high crime committed period as New Year's Day and Spring Festival in order to protect the festival market and the interests of the masses.
