2010/12/30

China attaches great importance to IPR protection and only by this means innovation can be stimulated and enterprises’ competitiveness and the nation’s quality can be improved, said Chen Deming, Minister of Commerce of P.R.C. on December 21 at the third annual China-EU High Level Economic and Trade Dialogue.

Chen Deming expressed that this October, China launched a half-year-long campaign on combating IPR violation and the manufacture and the trafficking of fake goods.

According to Chen, the campaign carried three features, i.e. keep a close eye on key sections, particularly the source to stamp out illegal printing and duplication of publications, CDs and computer software; solve urgent issues, especially those concerning copyrights, trademarks and patents; establish and better systems in a long term view.

Minister Chen denoted that China has already erected legal framework on IPR protection and intensified law enforcement.
