In response to the requirements of the Ministry of Public Security, Changsha Municipal Public Security Bureau launched a campaign to crack down upon IPR violation and the manufacture and sales of counterfeiting and shoddy commodities across the city from November 2010 to March 2011.
The following kinds of cases will be closely fight against, i.e. cases involving the violation of copyrights, trademarks, patents and new plan varieties, IPR cases transferred from administrative law enforcement authorities, cases concerning printing and duplicating pirated books, AV products and software, imitating international and domestic famous brands and producing and distributing counterfeiting food, drugs, agricultural material and alcohol and tobacco products, other serious cases that greatly harmed domestic famous enterprises and foreign-invested business.
The special campaign will involve many police classifications. Besides, the police will join hands with other functional authorities like IPRs, industry and commerce, quality inspection and news and publications to ensure the effects of the campaign.
Changsha police also welcomed enterprises and the public to report crime clues and news media to disclose cases in order to effectively punish offenders.
During the special campaign, the public security organs would visit communities and enterprises to publicize laws and policies on IPR protection, guide enterprises to build IPR management system, and help consumers to raise their abilities in identifying counterfeiting goods.
