　　Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering Guo Konghui pointed out that new energy vehicle is the future of the automotive industry. We must have clear understanding that domestic and foreign auto industry are at "the same starting line" in this field. China’s development of new energy vehicle should begin with low-end rather than high-end models.

　　Guo Konghui called on the state to support local brands in developing new energy vehicles. We must "make breakthroughs in both technology and policy level, developing parts technology and clearing policy barriers" so as to achieve international competitiveness.
