It was known from Music Copyright Society of China (MCSC) that Qu Jingming, General Director of MCSC, was elected vice chairman of the Asian Pacific Committee of International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers (CISAC). Representatives of music copyright associations from Australia and Japan were elected chairman and another vice chairman respectively.
CISAC is a non-governmental and non-profit international organization, aiming to promote the protection of authors’ rights, provide assistance in activities held by membership and enhance the cooperation among associations in different countries. The organization has been dedicated to the respect and protection of authors’ rights since it was founded. By June 2010, CISAC has already had members coming from 229 authors’ right protection associations in 121 countries and regions, directly standing for more than three million individual originators of various works, including music, drama, literature and audio-visual contents. The organization is based in Paris and has five committees respectively in North America, South America, Africa, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions.
