Director of SIPO Met with U.S. IPR Enforcement Coordinator

On October 21, Director of State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Tian Lipu met with U.S. IPR Enforcement Coordinator Victoria A. Espinel and her delegation. Officials from U.S. Department of State, United States Embassy in China and IPR Commissioners attended the meeting.

Tian Lipu pointed out that, China has established an Inter-Ministerial Joint Conference for the implementation of National IPR Strategy by focusing on IPR protection. Besides, it will also cover the creation, application, protection and management of the IPR and improvement of public awareness. Tian introduced with emphases the action plan for the IPR protection in China, and said that, SIPO is both the constitutor and executor of the plan, and carries out special campaigns annually in IPR Day and Patent Week.

Victoria A. Espinel appraised the achievements by China in IPR protection and briefly introduced the functions of the U.S. IPR Enforcement Coordinators. She hoped to further communicate with SIPO in the future and promote the IPR protection together.
