The Chinese copyright of A Hundred Years of Solitude was sold to THINKINGDOM MEDIA GROUP (‘the Group’). There have been rampant rumors that　the GROUP had purchased the copyright of the book with a high bid. Carmen, the copyright agent of Marx’s works, confirmed on the phone that the copyright of the book had been sold to the GROUP. Another staff member also confirmed the sale at the beginning of this year. Many publishing houses tried to gain the copyright of the book by various means but in vain. It was said that the asking price was about $ 1 million.
