Standard of User Charge for Copyright Collective Management of Film Works Likely to be Issued

People may no longer be able to watch movies online or download movies for free as the Film Copyright Association of China has recently submitted to SAT the Standard of User Charges for Copyright Collective Management of Film Works( ‘ the Standard’ ), which intends to charge net-bars, long-distance shuttle buses, video order programs and non-profitable local area networks for using film copyrights. According to the 26th Statistical Report on the Development of China’s Internet Network issued in July, the total number of netizens in China has reached 0.42 billion and the users of internet videos 0.265 billion. The netizens will be the biggest group influenced by the Standard.
