The 4th Sino-Singapore IPR symposium held in Shanghai

From August 25 to 26, the 4th Sino-Singapore Intellectual Property (IPR) Symposium was held in Shanghai. Director of State Intellectual Property Office Tian Lipu, Senior Minister of State Assoc Prof Ho Peng Kee and Director of Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) Liew Woon Yin attended.
Tian pointed out at the opening ceremony that, Singapore is an important trading partner in the ASEN area, and China has attached great importance to the IPR cooperation with Singapore. Since the signing of the MOU on cooperative framework, the two sides have carried out a series of friendly communication programs, and with the deepening of the cooperation on IPR of the two offices, there must be more convenience in the economic trading and investments for enterprises.
Ho Peng Kee hoped that Chinese enterprises and the IPR organs could gain a much more comprehensive understanding about the IPR system of Singapore in virtue of the symposium and thus to facilitate the mutual learning and cooperation.
The symposium aimed at introducing the Singapore's IPR system and the practices from different angles and further advancing the IPR cooperation and communication. During the activity, experts from Singapore made speeches on the newest development of Singapore's IPR system, how foreign enterprises get IPR protection, the utilization and commercial management of IPR, alternative dispute resolution for IPR, IPR online and in digital environment, and how to transform creative ideas into valuable IPRs. About a hundred people from governmental departments, industry associations, enterprises, scientific research institutions and service agencies attended the symposium.
