Lately, China Western International Patent Technology & Product Fair (hereinafter referred to as the Western Fair) was held at International Exhibition Center in Eerduosi, Inner Mongolia. The fair is hosted by State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and the government of Inner Mongolia, and is undertaken by Inner Mongolia Intellectual Property Office, Eerduosi Government, Economic Development and Research Promotion Association in the autonomous region. Deputy Director of SIPO Gan Shaoning was present.

The Western Fair is themed with "harmonious development, low-carbon construction, and healthy life". It has two main exhibitions and special areas for over 20 key industries, innovative industries, regional economies and legal services; patent technologies and products of the fair cover new energy, coal, environmental protection, equipment manufacturing, electronics, building materials, culture and so on. There are 28 provinces and municipalities, 135 large enterprises, 10 universities and colleges, and foreign enterprises from U.S., Japan, and German that attend the fair. Patent technologies and hi-techs to be exhibited are more than 1,100 and the attendees are expected to be over thousand.
