MOF, MOST, NRDC, SAT and General Administration of Customs recently made a statement that enterprises and institutions responsible for major civil S&T programs of National Outline for Medium-and-Long-Term S & T Development(2006-2020) are exempted from import tariff and VAT for importing key equipment (including software tools and technology) , components and raw materials purchased with financial allocations, self-raised funds or funds acquired by other means . Major civil S & T programs include key electronic devices, high-end common chips, up-scale IC manufacturing equipment and high-temperature gas-cooled reactor nuclear power station etc.
