Pushing Forward the Implementation of Trademark Strategy Policy

On July 2, the Commerce and Industry Bureau of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China issued the Opinions on Implementing the National IP Strategy and Promoting Trademark Strategy. The Opinions calls for increasing the trademark awareness of society and making full use of brand trademarks to build an economic development model featuring brand trademarks. The Opinions requires industry and commerce authorities at all levels to strenghthen the authentication and supervision institutions of well-known trademarks to build a trademark publicity mechanism led by the government, with a competent department in charge. It is supported jointly by news media and the public, to guide enterprises to use self-owned trademarks in international trade and create world-known brands,,to push forward the cultivation of well-known and famous trademarks, and to establish a dynamic authentication and management mechanism.
It’s reported that until now the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China has filed more than 20,000 trademark applications, including 17 well-known trademarks, 269 famous trademarks, 17 certified trademarks of geographical indications and 60 trademark international registrations.
