JPO-KIPO-SIPO Design Conference held

2010 China-Japan-Korea Design Conference co-sponsored by China's State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO), Japan Patent Office (JPO) and Korea Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) was held in Beijing. Deputy Director of SIPO He Hua was present at the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Supervisor of the design course of JPO Kawasaki Toshitaka and Supervisor of the design course of KIPO were present at the opening ceremony.

  He Hua indicated that, China, Japan and Korea have favorable cooperative relationships. In the design field, the patent applications of Japan and Korea have been in the high level in China. He hoped by the seminar, the three sides can further deepen the mutual understanding of design system and review practice, and lay a good foundation for the future cooperation.

  At the meeting, over 50 experts and representatives in the design fields of the three countries made embedded discussions focusing on the review and management of design patent and review standard of authorization essential conditions and so on.

  According to statistics, in recent five years, the design patent applications of Japan and Korea accounted for 40% of the amount in China, and Japan has long been the first.

  It is learnt that, in December 2009, the three countries held the ninth policy conference. The seminar was an important exchange activity under the framework of policy dialogue between the three offices.
