Liu Binjie meets with officials of Australian Attorney-General's Department

On July 13, Director of General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) and National Copyright Administration Liu Binjie met with Vice Minister of Australian Attorney-General's Department Wilkins and his group in Beijing. Liu Binjie pointed out that China and Australia were the important countries in Asia-Pacific and had common interests in regional development and international cooperation. In the first half year, the visit of China's Vice President Xi Jinping in Australia further promoted the friendly cooperative relationships between China and Australia. China was willing to work together with Australia to boost the constitution of the international rules on protection of folk literature and art at the level of WIPO and was willing to strengthen communication and cooperation in the mutual interested fields.
Wilkin expressed that there are good cooperative relationships between Australia and China, and copyright is one aspect. He considered that the two sides were facing with mutual problems on many aspects, and was willing to reinforce cooperation with China on copyright lawmaking, law enforcement and ability construction.
