China's patent examination work affirmed

On May 19, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) James Pooley paid his first visit to China's State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) under the invitation of SIPO. During the visit, Pooley belauded China for its patent examination work.
Pooley expressed that, WIPO and SIPO developed fruitful cooperation in the past and in the future, the friendly cooperation will go on as before. It is learnt that Pooley was in charge of PCT and technology transfer work in WIPO. He said, the application and development of PCT system in China need SIPO's attention and promotion. As a PCT international recipient, international retrieval entity and international preliminary examination entity, SIPO did very well in patent examination quality and efficiency, said Pooley. With the fast increase of patent applications, SIPO took a series of effective measures to raise examination ability and ensured the examination efficiency and quality. All SIPO did was affirmed by Pooley.
