According to the data released on April 27 by Fujian Provincial IP Office, from this January to March, Fujian Province received 4,088 pieces of patent filings, up 25.44% compared with the same period of last year.

Among the filings, invention patent applications were 956, up 19.95%; applications for utility model patents were 1,981 pieces, rising by 44.28%; and filings for design patents were 1,151 pieces, increasing by 5.69%. In the three types of patent applications, invention patent applications accounted for 23.39%, utility model patent applications took up 48.46% and design patent applications occupied 28.16%.

Among the authorized patents in the first quarter, invention patent authorizations were 179, up 32.59%, utility model patent authorizations were 1,198 with a growth of 34.61 and design patent authorizations were 1,116, representing a 25.96% increase compared with the same period of last year.
