88 Chinese brands have edged into the "2009 Global Top 500 Brands" of World Famous Brand Assembly 2009, the organization announced Tuesday in Tokyo, CNR.cn reported.
Among them are 79 mainland enterprises, mostly state-owned, and three HK firms. Six companies from Taiwan are also listed. The 88 finalists' annual revenues top US$10 billion in average, the report said.
The latest brand standing on Tuesday was jointly issued by World Brand Organization (WBO), World Union of VIP Enterprises (WUVE) and US-China Economic Trade & Investment General Chamber of Commerce (USCGC), all Washington-based organizations.
The World Famous Brand Assembly (WFBA)'s top 500 list was based on the enterprises' performance, management and brand promotion during 15 consecutive years' time, said Chow kongShankwan, president of WFBA.
