3 projects for railway get '09 National Science and Technology Progress Award

It is learnt on January 13 from Ministry of Railways that, the 3 projects recommended by the Ministry obtain '09 National Science and Technology Progress Award.

In recent years, China has achieved a lot in the railway technical innovation, said Wang Yongping, spokesman for Ministry of Railways. The batch production for the localized "Hexie" 350km/h EMU is realized and the EMU operates well on lines of Jing-Jin Intercity high-speed railway and Wu-Guang high-speed railway; the design scheme for the new generation of high-speed EMU is specified; and big progresses were made in the key technology innovation for high-power locomotive.

Wang Yongping said, in 2010, Ministry of Railways will tightly focus on the construction and operation of the high-speed railway, realize further technical innovation, perfect the innovation system for railway and operate well the technical achievements.
