China-EU leaders: enhance cooperation on IP protection

On November 30, The 12th China-EU summit was held in Nanjing. After the meeting, both sides released "Joint Declaration of 12th China-EU summit". The Joint Declaration indicates that, leaders of both sides considered constructing an active, effectively executed and well operated IP protection system, promoting continuous development of economies and striving to enhance cooperation on IP protection.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Swedish Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso presided the meeting together.

The Joint Declaration expressed that, both sides considered that developed countries increasing fund supports to developing countries and carrying out arrangement on transferring technologies to developing countries will be the important achievements of Copenhagen Conference.

Leaders of both sides considered constructing an active, effectively executed and well operated IP protection system, promoting continuous development of economies and striving to enhance cooperation on IP protection.

Both sides agreed to strengthen cooperation under the situation of current financial crisis and international trade slowdown, promote both sides' trades and strive to make achievements in implementing Cooperative Plan on Customs IP Protection.
