As part of 2009 3^rd China Patent Week, on November 12, Chongqing Patent Exhibition & Trading Fair was held in Chongqing. Director of Chongqing Municipal IP Office Yuan Jie attended the opening ceremony.

Yuan hoped the fair could be an effective carrier in creating innovative and entrepreneurship atmosphere in the whole society, turning a new page for patent industrialization and boosting the good and fast development of the economy and society in Chongqing.

All the exhibitors, enterprises or individuals, need pay no fees for the exhibition, showing the commonweal tenet. 56 enterprises and scientific institutions, 165 non-service inventors and more than 500 patent projects were attracted. The exhibition projects covered green economy, energy saving and emission reduction, the construction of new countryside and disaster early-warning and the reconstruction after the disaster. Many of the exhibition projects are adaptable to be commercialized. The fair also allured many entities from places other than Chongqing.

It is learnt that the exhibition fair was co-hosted by Chongqing Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the People's Government of Jiangbei District of Chongqing and Chongqing Municipal IP Office and undertaken by China Autobike (Car) IP Information Center, National Patented Technology (Chongqing) Exhibition & Trading Center and the IP Office of Jiangbei District. The patent week provided an exhibition and exchange platform for the providers and demanders of patented technologies, helped the patented technologies with bright market future to explore market and boosted the implementation and industrialization of patented technologies of Chongqing.
