With the reinforcement of protection in Canton Fair, the work for intellectual property rights (IPR) protection received positive comments; IPR protection in Canton Fair has become the publicity place, practicing base and service window for the IPR protection in Guangdong.

In recent years, IPR protection work in Canton Fair made great achievements and welcomed by intellectual property right owners, and becomes the facia of other fairs. Among the complaints, patent cases are increasing steadily, from one third to half and then to two thirds. On one hand, it is due to the increasing innovation achievements and the strengthening of rights defending awareness; on the other hand, Guangdong has taken positive law enforcements in Canton Fair.

As for the 106th Canton Fair closed lately, there were 710 complaints against IPR infringements, 1,113 enterprises complained and 689 considered to be suspects of infringements, which were 21.8%, 48.6% and 42.9% higher than the previous Canton Fair respectively. And patent-related complaints were 484, accounting for 68.1% of the total number, 15.2% more than the previous Canton Fair.

Guangdong Intellectual Property Office said that, it will make further efforts to protect the IPR in Canton Fair and build the leading role of it.
