Hebei: well-known trademarks for Shijiazhuang will be over 25 in 4 years

Days ago, Shijiazhuang in Hebei Province issued the Implementation Scheme for the National IPR Strategy for Shijiazhuang (hereinafter referred to as the "Scheme") and made plans for the future 11 years' intellectual property rights development and innovation. In these years, Hebei will support the patent application and trademark registration, and anyone, no matter unit, enterprise or individual, could enjoy the beneficial policy provided in the Scheme once meeting the standards for the application or registration.
The Scheme set down both long-term and short-term goals. Hebei will establish a new system of IPR management, protection and service and become the leading province in IPR development by 2020. The annual growth rate for the patent applications should reach 15%, the annual patent applications should be 3,300 and the total number would be over 37,000 by 2013.
Besides, Hebei plans to increase over 1000 famous trademarks at provincial level annually, with a total number of 22,800. Recently, the number of provincial famous trademarks for Shijiazhuang is 202 and 20 well-known trademarks at the national level. By 2013, famous trademarks at provincial level will reach 280 to 300, and well-known trademarks at national level will be over 25.
From now on, Hebei will organize series of trainings and publicity activities on intellectual property laws and regulations, and will set up mechanism of rewards and punishment. Shijiazhuang Municipal People's Government will set up special funds for intellectual property rights (IPR) development, and increase the devotion for the IPR year after year in accordance to the local economic development.
