Vice SIPO Director visits Europe

Lately, Vice Director of the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) Gan Shaoning led a group to visit Finland, Sweden and Norway for IP protection. The group members were from the General Office of the State Council, the SIPO, the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate. During the visit, the investigation group exchanged views with related IP protection organs of the three nations including Finland Customs, the Court of Appeal in Stockholm, Sweden, Stockholm Police Department and the Supreme Court of Norway.
Gan Shaoning briefed the implementation of China's IP strategy, the overall situation of IP protection and the latest development while the officers from the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate particularly introduced the IPR protection in the departments of courts and procuratorates.
This visit helped Chinese IP protection departments further understand the function of the courts, police departments and customs of these three nations in IPR protection, criminal law enforcement, administrative law enforcement of customs, how the IPR departments coordinate with each other, the key measures taken by these three nations in fighting against infringement and counterfeiting, especially the latest news on network document sharing and how EU coordinates the measures on IP border protection taken by EU members in enhancing IP protection.
