The EU-China IPR2 Project publishes a series of "Roadmaps for Intellectual Property Protection" for companies – the Patent Protection in China issue has recently been updated in line with the new Patent Law of 1 October 2009. It provides an overview of the Chinese patent system and indicates the main areas of this third revision which bring a number of substantial changes to the Chinese patent system.
This issue cites some of the proposed amendments to the draft Implementing Regulations for reference, and will be further updated once they are approved
The Roadmap series aims to provide information on the IP systems in China and Europe and to give guidance to both European and Chinese companies in protecting their IP. All issues are available to download free-of-charge at www.ipr2.org/roadmap
