The Electric Scooters in one particular booth (C29-32) in the bicycle display area were the talk of many of the visitors to the Canton Fair yesterday.

Developed by Anhui Technology Import and Export Co Ltd, the electric scooter has now successfully secured a self-developed patent,according to Fang Genhong,the head of the company.

Both buyers and visitors to the event have been captivated by the scooter, with many gathering to discuss its merits and some even test driving it around the hall.

The electric scooter has a gunlike remote control and, with a press of the starting button, the scooter can run automatically.It also features a gas button and a brake. It comes in a high-end mid-level and budget variety all
designed to meet the different needs of consumers. Its design principles are said to be similar to those of a car.

The scooter mainly targets European markets, as well as those of the United States and Brazil. Its sales have maintained momentum in the foreign trade markets, despite the economic downturn.

Making its debut appearance at the fair, the scooter has been extremely well received. Fang said the fi rst deal, worth more than 40,000 yuan, was signed on Friday with a Mexico buyer.
