Shanghai Intellectual Property Court Bulletin: "Unfair Competition" cases accounted for 72% of counterfeiting and confusion

Recently, the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court has notified the white paper and typical cases of unfair competition cases from 2015 to 2020, showing that the Shanghai Intellectual Property Court accepted 950 unfair competition cases, accounted for 6.2% of the total number of cases of the unfair competition received in the same period. There were 850 cases closed, and the number of closed cases showed an overall upward trend, with an average annual growth of 21.2%.
 
In terms of the types of cases, counterfeiting and confusion cases accounted for 72%, and trade secret infringement cases accounted for 14.3%. In addition, there were false publicity, commercial defamation, and other unfair competition cases.
