On September 16, Sino-EU Work Group held the sixth meeting in Beijing. Deputy Head of the Department of Treaty and Law of the Ministry of Commerce Li Chenggang attended and addressed the opening ceremony.
Deputies of China and EU developed in-depth discussions on law enforcement and technology cooperation in the fields of trademarks and geographical indications (GIs), involving the application, examination and management of trademarks regulated in the revised Trademark Law of China and the protection issues of well-known trademarks; GI protection in China, the definition, features and record procedures of geographical indications, the results of GI protection and the future of Sino-EU GI Agreement; the issues concerning counterfeit goods in retail and wholesale market and on the Internet, criminal law enforcement and the law enforcement practice involving trademarks and GIs; the technology cooperation under Sino-EU IP Cooperation Project (II), etc..
