On August 21, Shenzhen Virtual University Park held a workshop on "IP Protection in the Amalgamation of 4C", and principals for China Video Industry Association and Municipal Bureau of Market Supervision and Management, judges from courts at all levels, famous intellectual property experts and scholars home and abroad, the partner of Finnegan Henderson and representatives from TCL, Tencent and other firms attended the meeting.

Not long before, State Council issued the "Planning on Adjusting and Revitalizing the Electronic Information Industry", bringing forward the requirement to expedite the process of the amalgamation of 4Cs (Computer, Communication, Consumer Electronic and Content). This is a plan customized for the situation of financial crisis to guarantee a steady development of the electronic information industry and boost the development of the industry. It is learnt from the person in charge for the organizer, Nanshan Science and Technology Bureau that, Nanshan has decades of electronic information firms relating to 4Cs, and the plan could offer a new environment for them; some firms have already launched terminal units of 3G and 4Cs, which become so popular in the market.

Hao Yabin, Vice Chairman of China Video Industry Association said that, intellectual property in the amalgamation of 4Cs has aroused concerns broadly, and this workshop is very necessary for the protection of digital copyright and the balancing of all shareholders' interests.
