The Supreme Law pronounced a verdict on an appeal case involving the infringement of technological secrets between Jiaxing Zhonghua Chemical Co., Ltd. and Wanglong Group Co., Ltd., and sentenced the accused infringer, Wanglong Group, to compensate the technical secret right holders of 159 million yuan. The Supreme Law stated that the verdict in this case demonstrates the Supreme People’s Court’s clear judicial attitude in strictly protecting intellectual property rights in accordance with the law and cracking down on malicious infringements. In addition to 159 million yuan in compensation based on the facts of the case, the Supreme People’s Court also ordered the legal representative of an enterprise that uses infringement as a business to bear joint and several liability. This has accurately and effectively cracked down on the illegal behavior of the enterprise’s responsible person using the enterprise as a tool for infringement.
