Recently, Guangzhou issued "Measures on Strengthening Intellectual Property Protection" (hereinafter referred to as "Measures"), which clearly put forward 25 specific measures from five aspects: "strict protection, major protection, rapid protection, common protection, and guarantee mechanism". Among them, it is proposed to optimize the work process and innovate the means of quick protection of intellectual property rights, such as the establishment of simple cases and rapid settlement mechanisms for disputes; establishment of a fast channel for handling intellectual property criminal cases.
The "Measures" proposes that by 2022, the phenomenon of the frequent occurrence of infringement will be effectively curbed, the situation of difficult to protect rights can be obviously changed, a scientific and strict intellectual property protection mechanism can be basically formed, and Guangzhou's intellectual property protection capacity and social satisfaction will be obviously upgraded. By 2025, the intellectual property legal environment will be more optimized, the intellectual property protection system will be increasingly completed, the basic guarantee role of the intellectual property system in stimulating innovation will be fully demonstrated, and the business environment that respects the value of knowledge will be more optimized.
It is reported that the "Measures" clarified the guiding ideology, basic principles and overall goals of Guangzhou's intellectual property protection at present and for a while in the future. It provided a significant basis for all districts and departments to strengthen intellectual property protection and contribute to the city's intellectual property rights reform. Measures have also provided a strong policy guarantee in constructing a complete protection work system and promoting the overall improvement of protection capabilities and protection levels.
