Ningxia: Yinchuan passes acceptance inspection of national IP pilot city

On September 11, Yinchuan city smoothly passed the acceptance inspection of national IP pilot city.
Since January 2007 when Yinchuan entered the new round of national IP pilot cites, the said city has made great progress in raising IP creation and use ability, strengthening IP protection and enhancing IP management capability. In 2007, Yinchuan applied for 580 pieces of domestic patents, up 61%; in 2008, the city filed 618 pieces of domestic patent applications, taking up 56.9% of the total patent applications in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, 411 pieces of applications were authorized with patents, accounting for 67.8% of the total granted patents in the whole region.
Meanwhile, the abilities of enterprises in independent innovation and use of IP system were gradually lifted, and a batch of enterprises with independent IPRs and core competition emerged, which promoted the development of economy and science & technology. In May 2008, Yinchuan IP Office was honored with the title of Advanced Collective Entity on National IP Pilot & Model Work by the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO).
