By the end of last year, Zhejiang Province has 55 kinds of famous, special and superior products gained the marks of origin protection, such as Huzhou brush pens, Zhang Xiao Quan Knives & Scissors, Jiaxing Zongzi, Kaihua Longding Tea, Linhai Persimmon Orange and so on. Among them, there are 43 products have gained the certification of national geographical indication and 12 have gained the certification of country of origin.

Accordingly, the mark of origin protection is a basic and common way to protect a country’s interests and trading, and is an organic part of the rules of origin of WTO’s "Agreement for Technical Barriers to Trade". Under the WTO intellectual property protection agreement, each member should fulfill its obligations on protecting other members’ products with marks of origin.

Nowadays, department of inspection and quarantine in Zhejiang Province has established a special fund to support enterprises for registering marks of origin for famous, special and superior products.
