On August 19, State Council held a standing committee meeting to deploy the promotion work for developing of small and intermediate enterprises (SMEs) and put forward further several policies. Chief Engineer of Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and speak man Zhu Hongren, talked about issues on how to support the development of SMEs at the interview on September 3.

Mr. Zhu said that, the government has set up special developing fund to support SMEs in various innovation activities, and has founded some direct financial platform for enterprises’ innovation. There are also experimental units in some places and SMEs could finance through pledge and mortgage of share rights and creditor's rights, especially IP rights, in the property exchanging markets.

The government also offers low fax rate for hi-tech SMEs to encourage and support innovations.

Cooperation of industry, university and research, and IP strategy implementation are among the measures also.
