Recently, Manager for IP affairs, technical staffs in Tianjin Jinjiu Group and patent agent for the company contacted the medical innovation examiner of State Intellectual Property Office through the long-distance contacting system at Tianjin IPO to discuss the creativity of the patent application of Jinjiu Group.
During the communication, the patent agent introduced the technical background of the application, technical problems solved and creative efforts cost in the production and research process, and expounded with stress the importance of the application to the industry and producers. The examiner asked further some concrete questions on technologies and technical effects of the product, and offered guidance on how to conquer flaws pointed in the notice and make more pertinent replies. Both sides had exchanged ideas sufficiently about the application and reached agreements.
This is the first time for Tianjin to use such a long-distance contacting system, which is a new and convenient contacting way for patent examiners and applicants or patent agents. From now on, patent applicants need not to go to Beijing to meet the examiners face to face any longer, which saves time and cost for the application and can improve the efficiency of the patent examining process.
