On August 28, Tencent and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law jointly announced to set up IP Post Doctorate Research Base of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and the Innovation Base of the Postgraduates of IP School of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, together developing the research of network IP protection and legislation in China.

It is learnt that the IP Post Doctorate Research Base was the first one in China. According to the agreement, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law will yearly select excellent researchers with doctorate to station in Tencent to study on network law, Media Law and IP Law. This year, the two sides will particularly develop research on these four topics including network intangible property, the use and protection of network individual information, the trend of software protection in network era and the trend of figure new media and copyright license. Tencent will not only provide necessary financial support for the researches, but provide social practice for the researchers depending on its rich product lines.
