Haynes and Boone has added patent trial attorney Eugene Goryunov as a partner in its Chicago office.
Goryunov will form part of the firm's post-grant review trials practice. He has experience in patent litigation matters across a range of sectors, including consumer goods, technology, and medical devices.
He has represented clients at more than 200 post-grant review trials, such as inter partes review (IPR), before the US Patent and Trademark Office.
Goryunov has also served as trial counsel at federal district courts, the US International Trade Commission, and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
David McCombs, partner at Haynes and Boone, said the firm was "endeavoring to meet the needs of our clients by adding talented practitioners like Eugene, who has a highly regarded practice handling patent trials before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board".
Goryunov said that he was attracted to Haynes and Boone by its "industry recognition and reputation in post-grant review trials".
