SIPO Seminar on IP Policy Held in Beijing

On August 17, State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) held a seminar on Links between of Intellectual Property Policy and Regional Policy.

Wang Jingchuan, former Director of SIPO, attended the seminar and made a speech. Other attendees are from Regional Economy Department of National Development and Reform Commission, Development Planning Department of Ministry of Science and Technology, Development Research Center of the State Council’s Research Department of Development Strategy and Regional Economy, and Institute of Industrial Economics of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences; there are also chiefs from intellectual property offices of Tianjin, Henan, Shaanxi and etc., and notable experts and scholars. The total number is over 20.

Chief from SIPO introduced the original intention of the subject, “Coordination and Links between IP policy and Regional Policy”, highlighting the important relations between these two. He said, the results of the research could be an important guide and drive to the future regional development and local IP strategy.

Professor Li Zhengfeng of Qinghua University, chief for the subject, reported the development and achievements of the subject, which affirmed by the attending experts. The latter also analyze thoroughly into the IP status of China, international IP research, China’s regional economical development planning, establishment and implementation of regional policy, relations between IP policy and regional policy and also gave constructive suggestions, in light of their work and research respectively.
