On January 11 , 2019 the project ‘Peers Say No’, which is supported by the EUIPO, will celebrate its final event devoted to schools. Over 320 students, from five primary and secondary lower schools in Rome, will gather in the MAXXI conference hall at the National Museum of Arts of the XXI century. 13 peer educator teams will alternate on the stage to present their works: poetry, rap songs, short theatrical performances, historical research works, paintings, video interviews, pictures and more, will be presented in an exciting live event ‘from kids to kids’. Adult speakers from the institutions and industry will also participate, to report on their work and commitments, as well as to appreciate the teams’ works. A renowned young animator will present the show. During the project, students have learned, among other things, what IP is, why it is important to protect IP, the difference in quality between originals and copies, the legal and practical consequences of infringements, the dangers and social costs of piracy and counterfeiting. Following the training sessions devoted to teachers, the project organised meetings with students in tutored laboratories for peer education, which resulted in these students unanimously saying NO to IP infringements.
