Anhui: Festival Showcases Traditional Operas

Fourteen performing troupes from five provinces staged performances during the China (Anqing) Huangmei Opera Art Festival from September 27 to October 8. The performances included 10 types of local opera, all of which are listed as intangible cultural heritage, including Xiju opera from Jiangsu province, Lyuju opera from Shandong province and Huangmei opera from Anhui province.
